PlayCompass Terms of Service

Welcome to PlayCompass! These Terms of Service govern your use of the PlayCompass mobile application operated by Watchlight Interactive. By using PlayCompass, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PlayCompass, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

PlayCompass is a mobile application that helps parents and guardians discover age-appropriate activities to enjoy with their children. The App provides personalized activity recommendations based on information you provide about your children and preferences.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use PlayCompass. The App is designed for use by parents and guardians, not by children directly.

4. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information, keep your credentials secure, notify us immediately of any unauthorized access, and accept responsibility for all activity under your account. You may sign in using Google Sign-In or create an anonymous account. Anonymous accounts have limited functionality and cannot be recovered if lost.

5. Child Information

By adding child profiles to PlayCompass, you represent that you are the parent, legal guardian, or have authorization to provide information about the child; the information you provide is accurate; and you consent to the collection and use of this information as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Subscription Plans

Free Tier

• Limited to 1 child profile
• Daily recommendation limits apply
• Basic features only

Plus Tier

• Up to 2 child profiles
• Unlimited recommendations
• Progress tracking and custom activities
• Weather-based recommendations

Family Tier

• Up to 3 child profiles
• All Plus features
• Family sharing with multiple accounts
• Monthly progress reports

Billing & Cancellation

Subscriptions are billed monthly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your device's app store settings. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. Subscription features remain active until the end of the paid period.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Upload malicious code or content
• Use automated systems to access the App without permission
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App

8. Activity Recommendations

PlayCompass provides activity suggestions for informational purposes only. Activities are recommendations, not professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating the safety and appropriateness of any activity, and you should supervise children during all activities. We are not liable for any injuries, damages, or issues arising from activities you choose to undertake.

9. Family Sharing

If you use Family Sharing features, you are responsible for managing family member access. Family members you invite can view shared child profiles and activity history. You can remove family members at any time. The account owner is responsible for the subscription and all family member activity.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of PlayCompass are owned by Watchlight Interactive and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our written permission.

11. User Content

If you create custom activities or provide feedback, you retain ownership of your content and grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and store your content to provide the service. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

12. Third-Party Services

PlayCompass integrates with Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, RevenueCat for subscription management, and OpenWeatherMap for weather data. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

PLAYCOMPASS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS, OR THAT ACTIVITY RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE SUITABLE FOR YOUR FAMILY.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WATCHLIGHT INTERACTIVE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, OR ANY INJURIES RESULTING FROM ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BASED ON APP RECOMMENDATIONS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Watchlight Interactive and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or activities you undertake based on App recommendations.

16. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without cause. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wisconsin.

19. Dispute Resolution

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may proceed with formal legal action.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
